Gustavsberg Argenta Plate

Though best known as one of Sweden's greatest ceramists, Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) began as a painter, studying in Paris under Henri Matisse. When he returned to Stockholm, he became celebrated as a designer of posters, before beginning his career in 1917 as the artistic director of Gustavsberg. Kåge held this position until 1949.
